“I got the feeling Palma was always an attention seeker who turned his story into infamy and now is bitching that no one else wants to touch him with a bargepole.”


It began with a complaint by Santiago Palma an Argentinian citizen who filed Palma filed an Employment Relations Authority (ERA) claim against Christopher Hoff-Nielsen’s e-bike business, E-Cycles NZ Ltd, claiming $25,000 in unpaid and lost wages and annual leave and $15,000 compensation. 

According to Steve Kilgallon’s March 15, 2024 article:

“Santiago Latour Palma says he’s owed over $25,000 by his former boss Christian Hoff-Nielsen – and for most of that time, was working illegally on a tourist visa.
